Her full name is Siti Yuniarti, but she goes by SISI. She is a legal scholar and academic specialising in cyber law, personal data protection, digital sovereignty, financial technology, and the regulation of emerging technologies. She currently serves as Head of the Business Law Department and Head of the Undergraduate Business Law Program at BINUS University, Jakarta, Indonesia. In these leadership roles, she is responsible for academic development, curriculum enhancement, institutional governance, and the strategic advancement of legal education in response to the rapid transformation of the digital economy. She obtained both her Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from Parahyangan Catholic University and subsequently earned her Doctor of Laws degree from Universitas Padjadjaran. Her academic and professional interests focus primarily on privacy and personal data protection, cybercrime, artificial intelligence, smart contracts, digital financial services, digital governance, and technology-based dispute resolution. She has published extensively in national and international academic journals, books, and conference proceedings. Her notable publications include Legal Protection of Personal Data in Indonesia; Protection of Indonesia’s Personal Data after the Ratification of the Personal Data Protection Act; A Legal Analysis of Indonesia’s Digital Sovereignty; Protection of Data Privacy in the Era of Artificial Intelligence in Indonesia’s Financial Sector; The New Chapter of Indonesia’s Data Protection from a Digital Economy Perspective; Consumer Protection in Lending Fintech Transactions in Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges; and Smart Governance for Smart Cities. Her other scholarly contributions address the role of data protection officers within personal data protection ecosystems, online dispute resolution, cybercrime response practices, the implications of the General Data Protection Regulation for Indonesian businesses, the regulation of smart contracts, and privacy challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also contributed to books on economic and business law and authored a publication examining the diverse forms of alternative dispute resolution. Through her scholarship, institutional leadership, and engagement with contemporary legal developments, Dr. Sisi continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of Indonesia’s legal framework on personal data protection, cyber law, and digital governance.
