Muhamad Afifullah is an early-career legal academic and faculty member in the Business Law Department at BINUS University. His principal academic interest lies in Islamic business law, with particular attention to the continuing development of Islamic economic law within Indonesia’s legal system. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Law from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and subsequently earned his Master of Laws degree from UPN Veteran Jakarta. His educational background has provided him with a strong foundation in both Islamic legal studies and contemporary Indonesian law. Alongside his academic career, Afif is actively involved in professional and institutional activities related to Islamic commercial dispute resolution. He currently serves as Secretary of the National Sharia Arbitration Board of the Indonesian Ulema Council. Through this role, he is engaged with the practical and institutional dimensions of dispute settlement in Islamic finance, banking, commerce, and other sharia-based economic activities. At BINUS University, Afif is committed to developing Islamic economic law as a significant area of legal education. He seeks to strengthen its place within the curriculum by connecting doctrinal principles with contemporary developments in Islamic finance, commercial transactions, arbitration, and regulatory practice. Through his teaching, professional involvement, and academic development, Afif contributes to the advancement of Islamic business law and to the growing discourse on sharia-based economic regulation and dispute resolution in Indonesia
