Debora Jessica Desideria Tanya is an early-career legal academic and faculty member in the Business Law Department at BINUS University. She joined the Department in 2026, bringing with her a strong interest in foundational legal education, legal philosophy, and interdisciplinary approaches to the study of law. She obtained both her Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from Universitas Negeri Semarang. Her academic background has fostered a particular interest in the philosophical foundations of law, including the relationship between legal thought, ethics, culture, and society. She is also interested in Chinese philosophy and its potential contribution to broader reflections on law, morality, social order, and human relationships. At BINUS University, Jessica teaches several introductory law courses designed for students from non-law disciplines. Through these courses, she introduces students to fundamental legal concepts, institutions, principles, and methods of reasoning, while demonstrating the relevance of law to professional, economic, technological, and social life. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she is actively engaged in academic writing. The breadth of her intellectual interests is reflected in her contributions to the BINUS Business Law website, where she explores a variety of legal, philosophical, and contemporary issues. As a young lecturer, Jessica contributes fresh perspectives to foundational legal education and continues to develop her academic profile through teaching, writing, and interdisciplinary inquiry.
