Dr. Brigita Purnawati Manohara, professionally known as Brigita Manohara, is an Indonesian journalist, news anchor, legal scholar, and academic whose interdisciplinary background encompasses architecture, law, communication studies, criminal law, political affairs, and natural-resources governance. Her extensive educational formation reflects a sustained interest in examining public issues from legal, political, institutional, and communicative perspectives. She began her undergraduate education in Architecture at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember and completed the programme after seven years of study. Driven by a strong interest in law and public affairs, she subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Universitas Yos Sudarso in Surabaya. She later earned a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from Universitas Dr. Soetomo, graduating cum laude. In 2014, she pursued a further postgraduate degree in Law at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia, specialising in criminal law. Supported by a scholarship from the Eka Tjipta Foundation, she completed the programme with cum laudedistinction. In 2016, Dr. Manohara commenced her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia, focusing her research on the legal and institutional governance of Indonesia’s oil and gas sector. Her scholarly interests extend to mining law, energy governance, regulatory policy, and the complex relationship between law and politics. Alongside her academic work, Dr. Manohara has established a prominent career in Indonesian broadcast journalism. She is widely recognised as a news anchor and the host of Indonesia Business Forum, an economic dialogue programme, as well as Apa Kabar Indonesia Malam on tvOne. Through these programmes, she has facilitated public discussion on economic policy, business regulation, politics, governance, and contemporary national affairs. Her professional experience in journalism complements her legal scholarship by providing direct engagement with public institutions, policymakers, business actors, and current political developments. Through her interdisciplinary education, academic research, and media career, Dr. Manohara contributes a distinctive perspective to discussions concerning law, politics, natural-resources governance, economic policy, and public communication.
