Dr. Besar is a legal academic whose teaching and scholarly interests encompass constitutional law, administrative law, and intellectual property law. He has extensive experience in legal education and has taught a range of courses addressing the relationship between public institutions, governmental authority, constitutional principles, and the protection of intellectual property rights. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Cokroaminoto Yogyakarta, and subsequently earned his Master of Laws degree from Universitas Tarumanagara in Jakarta. He later completed his Doctorate in Law at Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung. Throughout his academic career at BINUS University, Dr. Besar has been actively involved in student development and university life. For many years, he taught Character Building courses, through which he contributed to the cultivation of students’ ethical awareness, personal responsibility, and social sensitivity. He has also provided academic and personal guidance to students experiencing difficulties in their learning processes, reflecting his sustained commitment to student welfare and educational development. Dr. Besar previously served as Deputy Head of the Undergraduate Law Program, where he contributed to academic administration, program development, curriculum implementation, and the coordination of teaching and learning activities. Beyond the university, he is actively engaged in a professional association for academics and lecturers specialising in intellectual property law. Through his teaching, institutional service, student mentoring, and professional involvement, Dr. Besar continues to contribute to the advancement of legal education and the development of intellectual property law scholarship in Indonesia.
