Dr. Bambang Pratama is a legal scholar and academic at the Business Law Department, Faculty of Law, BINUS University. His principal areas of teaching and research include cyber law, intellectual property law, foundations of law, private law, and social theory. His interdisciplinary interests enable him to examine technological and legal developments through doctrinal, theoretical, and socio-legal perspectives. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya and subsequently earned his Master of Laws degree from Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta. He later completed his Doctorate in Law at Parahyangan Catholic University. Dr. Pratama has developed particular expertise in cyber law and personal data protection. His scholarly contributions include a book providing a comprehensive article-by-article annotation of Indonesia’s Electronic Information and Transactions Law, commonly known as the ITE Law. Through this work, he offers legal interpretation and practical analysis of the statutory provisions governing electronic information, digital transactions, and conduct within cyberspace. Beyond his academic responsibilities, Dr. Pratama is actively engaged in providing expert insights to law-enforcement institutions and other relevant authorities handling technology-related legal matters. His expertise is frequently drawn upon in cases involving cybercrime, cybersecurity, cyberbullying, electronic evidence, online misconduct, and other emerging legal challenges arising from the use of digital technologies. Through his scholarship, professional engagement, and contribution to legal practice, Dr. Pratama continues to advance the development of cyber law, data protection, and technology-related legal studies in Indonesia.
