Dr. Abdul Rasyid is a faculty member in the Business Law Department at BINUS University. His academic expertise lies primarily in Islamic business law, Islamic banking and finance, financial-technology regulation, consumer protection, and commercial dispute resolution. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Law from the Faculty of Sharia at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. He subsequently pursued his postgraduate education at the Faculty of Law, International Islamic University Malaysia, where he earned both his Master of Comparative Laws and Doctor of Philosophy degrees, specialising in Islamic business law. His scholarly work examines the legal and philosophical foundations of Islamic banking, the institutional settlement of Islamic banking disputes, and the regulatory challenges arising from financial innovation. His publications include The Philosophy of Islamic Banking: Between Idealism and Pragmatism; The Authority of Institutions for the Settlement of Islamic Banking Disputes; Regulation of Illegal Fintech Lending in Indonesia; and Consumer Protection in Lending Fintech Transactions in Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges. His research also extends to corporate accountability, supply-chain transparency, and environmental responsibility. Through his teaching and research, Dr. Rasyid contributes to the development of Islamic commercial law and contemporary legal discourse concerning financial services, technological innovation, responsible business conduct, and access to effective dispute-resolution mechanisms.
